Este pedaço de um verso de uma canção do repertório de XAILE define, na sua essência, a atitude e a energia deste projecto musical português contemporâneo: etno-cultural na sua raiz e na sua consciência, lúdico na sua forma e na sua espectacularidade, popular nos processos de comunicação e na abrangência do seu espírito.

XAILE é música do fundo do nosso coração que, depois de naufragar numa longa saudade, volta cheio de coisas novas para contar e cantar: canções originais com propostas sonoras e cénicas vindas de cá dentro de todos nós, sentidas e cantadas em português.

Xaile são LÍLIA, MARIE e BIA, três cantoras/instrumentistas, donas de pessoalíssimas vozes e personalidades, acompanhadas por um grupo de músicos e por múltiplos recursos audiovisuais, num contexto performativo cheio de festa e de mistério, de força e de sentimento, com uma linguagem poética e musical totalmente portuguesa porém totalmente contemporânea, magia da música e da terra, beleza que não só parece mas é.

Concebido e produzido por dois músicos/autores/produtores (Rufi e J.J.Galvão), XAILE é Música Portuguesa Planetária (M.P.P.), feita aqui para chegar a todo o lado.

This fragment of one of Xaile’s song’s lyrics defines, in its essence, the approach and the energy of this portuguese contemporary musical project: ethnical in its roots and awareness, entertaining and spectacular in its shape, popular in its comunication and the width of its spirit, avant-garde by the authenticity of its speech, looking for its own voice, feet in the past, hands in the present, let’s do it now, trying to exorcise a few ghosts during the creative process, half opening the windows to some angels of the future, “Sebastian sitting over there, by the sea, unable to see the world changing…

Xaile is music from the profound of our hearts, once sunk in an endless longing, now returning full of new things to tell and sing: original songs with scenic and musical proposals coming from deep inside all of us, felt and expressed in Portuguese, mixture of memory and surprise, like a revived souvenir, sounding new but tasting like ever, flutes/pipes/root drums/ guitars/cavaquinhos*/accordion in one side, electronics and unexpected grooves in another.

Xaile are LÍLIA, MARIE and BIA, three singer-players owners of very personal voices and personalities, unique and totally fresh, like drinking water from the mountain top natural fountain. They are backed by a group of musicians and by multiple audiovisual resources, in an album and within a performing context plenty of amusement and mistery, power and feeling, with a lyrical and musical language very portuguese yet very universal, seducing your eyes and your ears, cheering up your souls, magic from music and from the planet, able to unite everything and everybody, beauty in movement, not only it looks like it but it really is.
